Why We Always Have a Coach

In today’s economy, it’s easy to get caught up in the doom and gloom; but to make it through a recession, we have to do the exact opposite: get creative and innovate, improve our offers, and inspire our teams.

What we often tend to forget is that it all starts with mindset. If your mind is in a good place, your business will be too - and vice versa.

So how are you supposed to maintain a positive, resilient attitude in the face of all these challenges? Well, the good news is you don’t have to do it all on your own! There are many resources out there to help you, and one of our favorites is coaching.

At Prominence, we hired coaches very early on in our business and attribute our fast growth and success to all the guidance we’ve been getting along the way.

So what does a business coach actually do?

1. They give you an outside perspective. A great coach will often see the simple solutions that may be right in front of you. They will help you connect the dots and give you fresh ideas to jumpstart your creativity.

2. They help you celebrate your wins. How many times do you stop to look back on all the amazing things you’ve done? We know how easy it can be to focus on the negatives, but that type of mindset tends to leave us feeling discouraged. Instead, if you focus on all the times you’ve bounced back from challenges in the past, you’ll start to realize that if you did it once, you can do it again.

3. They show you your limiting beliefs. As business owners, we tend to hyperfocus on the competition and what they’re doing; but oftentimes, the only person holding you back from growing to the next level is you. If you’re telling yourself you can’t raise your price or change up your offer, etc. - you become your own biggest block. That’s where a business coach comes in to show you how you may be limiting your own success and how to escape those patterns.

4. They help you get unstuck. Staying positive is much easier said than done. With so much pressure on our shoulders as business owners, it’s easy to feel like things will never get better when we’re experiencing a dip. A business coach will help you brainstorm simple and effective ways to overcome your specific challenges, providing support and encouragement along the way.

5. They help you get ahead faster. Sure, you could spend years trying to figure out why you feel stuck or can’t seem to get out of a rut on your own. Or, you could hire someone to help you figure that out in a few months, jumpstart your growth, and help you achieve your goals faster.
